Sally Face: Art, Lore, and More

A fan of Sally Face? You’re going to want to get hands-on with Titan Books’ Sally Face: Art, Lore, and More when it releases this September.

We’re big fans of Titan Books, having covered a range of their art-styled offerings over the years. The Watch Dogs Legion: Resistance Report, their Assassin’s Creed: The Essential Guide, The Art of Borderlands 3 and more have all found pride of place on our coffee tables. But now comes focus on Sally Face.

If you’re unaware, Sally Face is a dark adventure game, one of the most popular of all indie horror titles. It dropped onto Xbox (and PlayStation and Switch) a couple of years back, gathering up a 4/5 review score from us. Include a recent Kickstarter that took in more than $300,000 and you’ll begin to understand the appeal.

Titan Books is delighted to be publishing Sally Face: Art, Lore, and More, out September 3rd 2024.

What is Sally Face?

A dark adventure game, Sally Face follows a boy with a prosthetic face. Sal uses his handheld video game system to speak with the dead and learn their stories. After a string of mysterious murders, Sal and his three friends discover something truly sinister casting shadows over their small town.

It makes sense then that Titan Books, along with the original creator of Sally Face, Steve Gabry, are moving into the coffee table hardback space.

Due to release on September 3rd 2024, Sally Face: Art, Lore, and More is a lush hardback packed with stunning imagery, including concept designs, character sketches, storyboards, and final screenshots of the game. The book also contains an exclusive autobiography of Sally Face game designer Steve Gabry, giving fans an exclusive look into Gabry’s life and what influenced the incredibly popular game.

About the Author

Steve Gabry is an award-winning indie game creator and has been creating hit games for 13 years. As the founder of Portable Moose (2015), Steve’s most known for his solo creation of the dark adventure game, Sally Face (2016-2019). He is also an artist, musician, and writer, and often pulls inspiration from his dreams. Steve’s career also includes co-founding Wither Studios (2010, game dev) and working with them as: creative director of Crowman & Wolfboy (2013, mobile platformer), artist/designer on Immure (2019, psychological horror) and artist/designer on Touched by an Outer God (2020, action horror FPS).

How to read

Sold on a purchase? You’ll need to wait until September, but as the 3rd hits, you’ll find Sally Face, Art, Lore, and More available from Titan Books for £24.99.
